In the last several weeks, its become apparent the Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is no longer being actively marketed by Disney Vacation Development. Although sales for the Grand Floridian are winding down, DVD sold more points for it than any other resort in April 2015. A total of 224,472 Disney Vacation Club points were sold for the month, including 95,923 points for the Grand Floridian.

A method of securing early Disney Vacation Club reservations dubbed "walking" has been gaining popularity in some circles.  The process entails booking a room days or weeks ahead of the intended arrival.  Trip dates are then gradually altered with nights cancelled on the front end (to free-up the points) and added on the back-end.  

Owners who "walk" reservations are justifiably using their own points and operating within the parameters of current rules.  However, some may view this process as an unintended loophole which gives select owners an unfair advantage.  It allows owners to temporarily hold availability they have no intention of utilizing, and increases traffic at DVC Member Services due to the multiple modifications made to reservations.
