Work is underway to expand the feature pool at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.
Way back in April 2024, Disney filed a request with the South Florida Water Management District for an expansion of recreational facilities at Fort Wilderness. Those plans have since been finalized and construction due to begin imminently. The additions, pictured below, will bring a new zero entry pool and additional deck space to the resort. The remodeled recreation area will also include a tennis court and two Pickleball courts.
The current Meadow Swimmin' Pool features a 67-foot water slide and hot tub. The existing pool and most facilities will remain open during construction.
The Meadow Recreation Area is located in the heart of the campground, however it is also available to guests staying in the resort's Disney Vacation Club cabins. The Wilderness Swimmin' Pool, a smaller leisure pool and hot tub, is positioned near the cabins and will open to all guests.
Disney recently completed construction on two new DVC model rooms for The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. Located near Pioneer Hall, the model cabins are available for members and non-members to prevew the new accommodations. Construction is also underway on Disney Lakeshore Lodge. This newest Disney Vacation Club property is situated on the former site of River Country waterpark between Fort Wilderness and Disney's Wilderness Lodge.
