Just one year after launching a series of quarterly members-only Condominium Meetings, Disney Vacation Club will return to the prior annual schedule.
Back in July 2024, a new Florida requlation went into effect requiring condominium associations to hold quarterly Board of Directors' meetings which were open to all owners. With most Disney Vacation Club resorts legally registered as a condo association, Disney hosted its first quarterly session in September 2024 in the convention center at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. Later meetings followed in December 2024, March and June 2025. With the exception of the December meetings, most were lightly-attended affairs that generated little news or interest.
The Florida guidelines have since been amended to exclude DVC resorts and similar timeshares from the quarterly meeting requirement. A statement issued by DVC reads as follows:
The state of Florida recently passed legislation in July 2025 changing the requirements for the management of condominium associations. As a result, Florida-based Disney Vacation Club associations will return to holding annual board meetings to align with the new regulations. Details regarding the meetings will be shared at a later date.
Members can still communicate with the Resort association boards by calling Member Services, or sending emails and requests through the Member website.
The legislative changes in Florida do not impact Members of The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort or Resorts located outside of Florida.
For more than two decades, Disney has held a single annual meeting for all of its resort associations. Typically scheduled for early December, the meetings fulfill a legal obligation to owners while also allowing management to conduct necessary business. During the meeting, the Board of Directors approves the resort budgets for the coming year and handles any other association business which needs to be addressed. A brief question & answer session is typically accommodated, with senior executives available to meet with individuals on a more private basis afterward.
Disney appears poised to return to the consolidated December meeting, although no date, time or location has yet been announced.
