The convenient transportation system connecting two theme parks to at least six resorts will close for a week in January 2027.
Walt Disney World is giving guests a generous 16-month notice of the upcoming Skyliner closure. Routine maintenance is scheduled to take place from January 24 - 30, 2027. These dates mirror the scheduled down time next year, which runs from January 25 - 31, 2026.
Disney's Skyliner opened in 2019. It connects both EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios to at least six resorts including three Disney Vacation Club properties. DVC resorts in close proximity to Skyliner stations are Disney's Riviera Resort, Disney's Beach Club Villas and Disney's BoardWalk Inn & Villas. Also located along the Skyliner route are Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney's Pop Century Resort and Disney's Art of Animation Resort.
During the scheduled downtime, bus service will be offered from Riviera to both EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. BoardWalk and Beach Club guests will have the option of walking to both theme parks or using the Friendship boat service.
Dates for the 2026 closure were not announced until April 2025. However, refurbishment has frequently been scheduled for late January since the skyway opened.
